It is possible to encounter certain difficulties in applying methods such as bored pile and mini pile on loose soils of which groundwater levels are high. Contrary to these methods, jet grout is a faster and more economical soil improvement method.
Jet grouting is a method applied by using the silo, mixer and pump equipment forming the cement paste. It is a process of forming cylindrical concrete columns in the voids by cutting like a knife prepared cement with a pump at a controlled amount under high pressure (300-600 bar, generally 450 bar) by drilling to the depth specified in the Project. Jet Grout column diameter is 40,60,80 and 100 cm. With this method, the bearing capacity of the ground is improved, and its compressibility is reduced. This method also provides the formation of impermeable columns under the floor. There are 2 types, Jet1 and Jet2. Jet1 consists of a single pipe with perforation and injection hole. As for Jet 2 method, drilling and injection equipment are two separate and concentric pipes. This difference in jet 2 causes jet grout columns to be minimum 60% larger.
